Q:What is an AWG?
A: An atmospheric water generator (AWG) is a device that extracts water from humid ambient air. Water vapor in the air is condensed by cooling the air below its dew point, exposing the air to desiccants, or pressurizing the air. Unlike a dehumidifier, an AWG is designed to render the water potable.
Q: How much water does it produce?
A: From our testing, we are aiming to produce up to 3 gallons per day, everyday. Depending on the humidity, it can be slightly more or less.
Q: Can it run off of solar?
A: We're working towards developing a solar powered version of Kara. It is undecided if we will launch with a solar version or release a solar version in the future. Feel free to contact us for more information.
A: We plan to have a backup battery that will allow the unit to run for a few days in the event of a power outage. The unit will go into economy mode and produce less water allowing it to operate for a longer period of time.
q: what happens if we lose power?
Q: How does the water taste?
A: It taste great! At 99.9% pure, it's some of the purest water out there.
A: Plans for a hot and cold version are in the works.
Q: does it produce hot and cold water?
q: what if i have a central air home?
A: If you have a central air home, Kara comes with an attachment that allows you to connect it to your window to use outdoor air instead of the air in your house. The attachment is completely sealed and will not affect the temperature in your house.
A: Kara will have sensors that will automatically shut off the unit if it is at capacity and turn back on once the sensor sees there is capacity.
q: what happens if i don't use all of the water everyday?
A: Drop us an email or give us a call!
