Working with the Kara Water team, and any external personnel, the software engineer is responsible for architect, implement, and lead outsourcing of embedded wireless IoT connectivity solutions, mobile applications, and scalable cloud services, along with any tools necessary to realize current and new products to the company portfolio. Software Engineer Job Duties:

  • Lead and assist external consultants, and teams in, but not limited to, software development, feasibility, analysis, testing, and deployment of all firmware, embedded software, cloud computing, wi-fi connectivity, and application development.

  • Documents and demonstrates solutions

  • Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.

  • Improves operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.

  • Obtains and licenses software by obtaining required information from vendors; recommending purchases; testing and approving products.

  • Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.

  • Develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle.


  • Must be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures

  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

  • Ability to manage and supervise external and internal resources

  • Strong communication skills both with the internal and external teams is expected at all times

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in software engineering or computer science

  • Embedded Software, Cloud Computing, Algorithms, App Development, UI/UX, Android & iOS, Data Analysis Software

Work Environment

  • From Home (70%)

  • In-person meetings (25%)

  • Occasional travel (1-5%)
